Cold Cutting is the cutting of steel or reinforced concrete with ultra high pressure water. The technology is typically used when a blow torch or cutting disk is not permitted due to fire hazard.
The technology uses ultra high pressure water with an abrasive added - typically a garnet W80. The water give the flow and the abrasive does the cutting. Highly efficient, the technology can cut thick steel, hardened concrete and re-bar.
Typical applications are:
- Cutting holes in Crude Oil tanks
- Cutting concrete where a grinder cannot be used.
